Quarter finals of the FA Cup: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Southampton, Port Vale, Leeds and West Ham or Brentford.
Nuno must surely go for it. He'd be mad not to, we'd only be one game from Wembley and two from the final!
As long as we avoid Arsenal and City we could have a fair chance.
08 Mar 2026 19:10:31
I think it is one of those games where, if we go for it and win, then all is good, but if we have a bit of a mare, like the last round, and maybe lose, it's not such a big deal. It just means we can concentrate on not being relegated.
09 Mar 2026 08:39:27
Will watch the game tonight but not bothered if we lose, as you said we can then concentrate on the relegation battle. ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒
09 Mar 2026 19:17:54
I see he has picked Pablo in the starting line up. I really hope I'm wrong, but I think that is a bad move because calf injuries have an annoying habit of recurring if not rested properly.
Knowing that this is a cup match, I would have thought it far more prudent to give 2 more weeks' rest.
Obviously the back room and health team know far more than me, but I just think a couple more weeks' rest would be better.
Leeds for the winner. Good draw.
10 Mar 2026 06:59:15
Well, looks like I was wrong again!
This team is showing such team spirit, it is so good to see. We all know we lack depth, but even fringe players, or players many have deemed not good enough, are showing they are worthy. I'm thinking Kante, Traore, Soucek, KWP.
That's not a dig at people who have suggested that, because I have done so with some of them. Don't want to go over the top coz things can go belly up, but I think there is a real unity in this side, and it should be celebrated. 😀
10 Mar 2026 08:58:53
What I think we have learned is: Diouf is significantly better than Scarles, Scarles is significantly better than Mayer. I've watched Mayer a few times now, and his distribution is as poor as it gets, and he rarely tackles or wins a tackle. He looks a division one player. Kante did better last night, and is worth a few more substitute run outs.
10 Mar 2026 09:47:33
Morning HD, I think we've all been guilty of being proven wrong. Disasi is a classic example, pretty much all of us felt it was a panic signing, yet he looks like another Dawson, nothing short of superb! I was disappointed with our summer marquis signing Fernandes, probably because I hadn't heard or seen much of him, but I have to say I absolutely love the lad! His passing and control of the game is everything that Paqueta threatened but never really delivered, and since the latter left, Fernandes has been free to play his own game.
Morning Brooking, totally agree about Mayer, he looks a little one-footed to me and out of his depth. Kante looked very good, and Pablo was excellent! We really are on a good, positive roll!
10 Mar 2026 10:05:36
Brooking, agree. Mayers, with due respect to him, stood out as the rubbish player of the night, def not PL standard yet or may never be!
Thought the rest of the team were terrific, with Bowen on fire & "he's sh----g Dani Dier". 😂🤣 Best he's played for many games. The 5 Penalties were all outstanding. 👍 Taken as they should be, at least only a couple of feet below crossbar height.
9 out of 10, all keepers go to ground for pens, bit riskier as can be blasted over, but along the ground is a rubbish pen for me even if scored! What an embarrassment for Quattara, that's what you get for trying to make a keeper look a p****, it was him that looked a p**** in front of 62,000. 😂😂 Well done lads, great display. COYI. ⚒⚒⚒⚒
10 Mar 2026 10:10:27
Hi Dabber, I can't argue with any of that. Especially on Disasi, as I was slagging him off that purchase and I'd never seen him play. He also seems to really like playing for us. We need to pay the money for him if we avoid the drop, as he has transformed the defence.
I agree regarding Mayers, he was the one weak link, I don't really see what he offers, and his crossing was poor also.
2 tough games coming up, let's hope we can get something out of one or both of these, or it could affect the confidence.

Wolves and Burnley are 1/150 to be relegated.
Spurs 6/4.
WHU 13/8.
Forest 11/4.
Leeds 11/2.
06 Mar 2026 12:57:30
Well, well, well! Who would have thought that Spurs are now favourites to go down with Wolves and Burnley. They next have 2 games with Atletico Madrid, where they could easily get a good hiding, with Liverpool away in between, and then a huge game v Forest.
Meanwhile, little old West Ham, under the guidance of Nuno (who I think has done an amazing job to get us in this position), quietly plod along, picking up points.
Yes, there have been questions over his decision making, but look what he's done with the same players Potter and Lop failed with.
I reckon 4 more wins and we are gonna be safe. I just can't see where Spurs can get anything the way they are playing.
06 Mar 2026 14:38:14
I agree with a lot of that, Mac. I think Spurs are really in trouble and have appointed another wrong person, who I don't think will be able to turn them around. But they may possibly twist again, like we did last summer. 😀 They also have a massive injury list.
If some of their players come back, they may pick up some results. I feel confident we will beat the drop, but I felt that way back in November, and we then went on an awful run. So things can change. Our squad is so threadbare that it is where a potential problem can come from.
06 Mar 2026 17:18:34
HI ED! Still.cant get on as JOYFULL so using another name
Hammer D That's. A major problem, no injuries required thanks, we certainly have a. Chance now.
14 points from 21 games, now 28 points from 29 games, many on here have slated Nuno. Fair enough, but he must be doing something right
Long way to go, so many thought, including myself., there's no chance, but after what I saw at Fulham, the effort, the energy, yes we do have a chance
Can see a lot of changes being made on Monday, whilst Brentford will probably play first team, but can't risk certain players
JOYFULL

Could you try joyful-1?
07 Mar 2026 00:44:25
Ed, very sensible.
05 Mar 2026 21:41:45
I wonder what Judas feels in his heart now?
06 Mar 2026 00:31:38
He will be off if they get relegated for sure. Not sure who would take a punt on him though.
07 Mar 2026 08:38:51
That's a good shout. I'll bet Kudus is glad he went to Spuds now.
05 Mar 2026 10:54:40
Next two games are very tricky. If we get one from City and Villa that would be fine. The games after are what we need points from; Wolves, Palace, Everton, Brentford. We need at 6-8 from that. After this it's Arsenal and Newcastle. Last game Leeds st home is going to be the game.
Personally, I think we'll get 12 more points.
05 Mar 2026 11:07:20
I have worked out 12-13 points is what we will get from this, too.
05 Mar 2026 12:15:10
I wish the Villa game was far sooner than it is, as they are currently in a dreadful run of form and would fancy us whilst they have players out injured.
City are like another Liverpool when it comes to playing us.
Doesn't seem to matter how well or bad their recent form is, they always smash us. Let's hope we are really on it and they have a bad day at the office.
05 Mar 2026 14:10:09
I think it's pointless trying to predict a run of results. Let's just take each game as it comes and hope we can do our best. Come on, lads!
05 Mar 2026 21:13:22
If Spuds keep this up, 3 points could do it. 🫣

05 Mar 2026 06:30:34
Great result for us, can’t believe City didn’t beat Forest. City are going to be well up for it when they play us, but they have got to play Real Madrid a few days before so let’s hope they might get a few knocks. But as for last night we should’ve had a clear penalty as he moved his arm towards the ball. Their free kick at the end of the first half was never a free kick as he kicked our player on the back of the leg just like the Fulham player did for their penalty claim, but because it was in the box VAR could get involved.
Luckily, let’s hope we keep this going. Other teams down there are really starting to get nervous and worried that we’ve hit a bit of form. ⚒️⚒️
05 Mar 2026 07:17:31
The downside is that Forest have also hit a good patch. Still, Spurs appear to be in free fall. Come on, Palace!
05 Mar 2026 07:48:20
Come on, Tin. They haven't won in the league since January, and their first 3 results under the new manager are lose, lose, draw.
What was a 6 point gap is now 0 points.
05 Mar 2026 07:54:23
I think one thing to bring into the equation is that we only have to play Leeds, which is the last game. Spurs have to play both Leeds and Forest, so generally any result will benefit us in some way, and Forest and Spurs still have European football, which makes it difficult.
I still don't believe Palace are completely out of it. But, far more important, is to carry on playing decently while showing the fight and team spirit.
05 Mar 2026 08:57:35
We just need to keep winning our games and performing well. Man City will be hard, but also they know, without a minor miracle, the league is gone, so the focus will be on the Champions League, which benefits us imo, as they play Madrid in the week.
05 Mar 2026 11:03:08
Poor officiating could have cost us again. Apparently City should have had a pen. We can stay up, it's just a shame that terrible officiating will, and already has, had a part to play.
The team's been playing well since the turn of the year, and probably should have had more points on the board.
The board's gamble not to replace Paqueta could still come back to haunt us if we get any injuries.
05 Mar 2026 11:05:38
Irons, did you see the Man City - Forest game last night? I recorded it and watched it after the Fulham game. Forest played well and didn't give up. I hope it's a one off, but that performance shows they haven't given up and shouldn't be written off. Spurs, on the other hand, ...
05 Mar 2026 11:31:27
I agree. My son's a City season ticket holder, and he said Forest played well and looked to be decent. 4 managers in a season, though, and for that reason their owner probably deserves Championship football. Personally, I think and hope it will be Spurs that go down.
04 Mar 2026 23:11:29.
Just got home from the game. The last fifteen minutes were immense. I thought MOTM was Mads. He made two excellent saves. His distribution is very good and the defence looks happier with him. Everyone of our starting 11 put in a shift. I think we’re going to end fifteenth from top!
04 Mar 2026 20:06:50
Our left side is playing well, but has Wilson touched the ball?
Was it a penalty? We couldn’t see.
04 Mar 2026 20:20:47
Wilson should have been an impact sub for this one... Should have had the extra man in the middle (Magassa).
04 Mar 2026 20:26:26
I'm not watching it, so I don't know how we are playing, but our lack of depth shows. When you look at their bench and then ours, they have a few game-changers on theirs.
04 Mar 2026 20:27:06
Definite penalty.
04 Mar 2026 20:30:15
Let's just say I've seen them given for less obvious.
04 Mar 2026 20:31:16
Gonna be another one of those nights where poor ref decisions decide a game, me thinks.
04 Mar 2026 21:29:14
Get in result.
04 Mar 2026 21:44:47
Now, that was a good battling performance! COYI!
04 Mar 2026 21:45:11
Wow 🎉🎉🎉 Never saw that coming. Couldn't even get radio commentary. Forest spoilt it, but great result for them, great for us. 🤞🤞🤞 ⚒⚒⚒
04 Mar 2026 22:07:25
Ended up going on Hammers chat for the 2nd half, which has Geo watching and commentating on the game. It was a real strain to watch his reactions, but good value, and it sounded like a great team performance, with the exception of Wilson, who, it sounded, was dire.
05 Mar 2026 00:05:39
Now that was a good game. The second half had it all - edge of the seat stuff. Well played, lads!
04 Mar 2026 19:32:36
Hermansen in goal. 🙊 No no no, hope he proves me wrong? ⚒⚒⚒ Coyi.
04 Mar 2026 21:36:41
He did. 2 top top saves. He did get lucky with that spill in stoppage time, personally, don't think there was enough contact, but we deserved at least 1 decision to go for us!!!
04 Mar 2026 21:38:56
He's proved you wrong!
05 Mar 2026 08:24:12
Dabber, not seen highlights that I recorded yet, but heard Herm made at least one outstanding save, so I am more than happy to admit that it looks like he is a decent keeper now that he is getting a run of more games.
🤞👍 Plus, as I said earlier, I never saw that result coming!
Had a text commentary on FootMob, which is always about 5 mins behind real time, very nervy reading it! ⚒⚒⚒ COYI
05 Mar 2026 11:39:03
Morning Chelms.
Hope you're keeping well.
I personally think that the defence just looks more comfortable with Herm behind them. His distribution is much better, and his organisation of the defence is better because he talks to them.
As great a shot-stopper as he is, I wrote a lengthy post about Areola being a problem. I remember I wrote it on the day we beat Sunderland. I won't go into it again, but I just feel the defence seems happier with Herm in goal. Coyi!
05 Mar 2026 13:49:04
Afternoon Dabber, yes, well thanks mate, hope you & family are too. 🤞 Watched the highlights this morning, we looked well decent, although only 3-minute or so highlights, as you know?
Bowen was so alert with his interception, then slipping it to Summers, a couple of great shimmy's then a terrific finish.
Wow, he's on fire at the moment! Selfish, but hope he doesn't get selected for the Dutch first team, start picking up injuries! Well happy to see your mate Hermy in goal now. He made a couple of real good saves, especially the save in the 87th minute, heading into the top left corner. 👍 ⚒⚒⚒ COYI

03 Mar 2026 22:16:20
Wolves had all the luck we didn't have on Saturday. Liverpool had 19 shots at goal, I believe Wolves had 4. When your lucks in
Sunderland and Everton did us massive favours tonight.
04 Mar 2026 03:31:56
If we can get that win tonight v Fulham, and both Spurs and Forest lose, we are well in a 4 team fight to stay up. We would be 3 points behind Leeds. I think it would also relegate Burnley, as they would be 9 points off us.
04 Mar 2026 09:58:29
I still think Leeds are in the relegation dogfight. If we can get anything tonight, that is a positive step in the right direction.
04 Mar 2026 14:17:49
Don't think a draw will be good enough, tbh. We need those 3 points. It would be a massive boost to get out of the bottom 3 (if Forest lose, of course).
01 Mar 2026 21:59:29
A good Sunday for us with Spurs and Forest both losing. Need to get the win v Fulham next. no ifs or buts. Expected to lose v Liverpool but Fulham are beatable. got to go for it
02 Mar 2026 09:15:45
100% must win, can get us out of relegation zone providing Forest lose to City.
Had a look at the next 4 games for Forest and Spurs, they both have to play 2 European games, then they play each other.
We are definitely in better form, hopeful we can take over both. It's doable, but it only takes a dodgy VAR decision or two, which we've had in crucial games.
Hopefully we can get some in our favour.
Lack of options off the bench could be pivotal in the run in. Ajala, Fearon, Orford need to be given a spot on the bench instead of filling it with a defender, or at least some game time in the cup. If one of them steps up, they could offer something different off the bench.
02 Mar 2026 16:31:12
Good call with the 3 youngsters. Mayers, Killman, and maybe Scarles or KWP should make way for a more attack-minded bench.
04 Mar 2026 03:22:42
I agree, our bench is always too defensive. Mayers should make way. The problem with the 3 named above is that I am not sure they are ready, and I would have rather had Earthy or Marshall, but the club decided to loan both out.
04 Mar 2026 16:48:41
I'm not convinced about Earthy; he was not picked by the new BC manager and is now injured, or Marshall, although I haven't seen that much of him. I think Orford is a good shout, and Fearon proved he is decent in pre-season. I don't think they should have let Kodua go to Luton, and Ajala deserves a chance. I know what you're saying, in that you don't think they are up to it, but even if the option is not ideal, it's better than nothing.
We are in a desperate situation, where we could find in any game a need to score to give us a win or draw. A defender isn't gonna do that. And having 5 is ridiculous. Sadly, with Killman, a massive drop in ability could only breed panic in the ranks and the crowd if he were to make a subs appearance.
01 Mar 2026 16:01:51
PGMOL sponsored by INEOS?
01 Mar 2026 09:57:34
Following on from the accounts being released and a few stories we need to sell in the summer. can see Bowem, Fernandes and Summerville being the likely ones as that's where the money is at.
Also Diouf being linked to a move away as well
This problem is due to over the seasons Loss upon loss on players brought in.
01 Mar 2026 16:02:57
Or they could invest their own money and stop all this robbing Peter to pay Paul.
01 Mar 2026 16:03:43
Or having a board that only looks to enrich themselves?
01 Mar 2026 19:03:24
We are probably going to be like Sheffield Wednesday but worse.Under PSR rules, accounts needed to be under £105 million, and we come in at 104. Wow, that smells of creative accounting. And these figures need to remain the same or better for 3 years.
How is that going to happen, even if we miraculously stay up? As others have said, it's up to the board to put their hands in their pockets, but they won't. They have almost bled us dry; why would they change the habits of a lifetime.
01 Mar 2026 19:47:42
Whetstone made a post via c&h saying that if we went down that the board would put their own money into getting us back up, so it is there. They just want to keep us up on a shoe string and hope someone meets Sullivan's stupid valuation.
01 Mar 2026 20:21:59
I watched that 3 episode series called Dirty Water, about how private companies have rinsed the taxpayer. The head honchos at these companies made millions, whilst the service and the safety of our waterways and everything else suffered. It was very similar to the asset-stripping muppet we have in charge of us. Something has to change.
