According to C&H Disaster is signing on loan till the end of season! Oh well by all accounts he is dreadful but I suppose we have to hope he turns out to be not so bad. A bit like what happened with Dawson. But somehow I doubt that.
1.) 29 Jan 2026 21:13:28
He was a shoe in, first WH where the only club, to pay his wages in full (78k a week ) , and second it’s the other side of London
Danger here is if he plays well? and we stay up, WH might be tempted to buy him, hhmmmm, we shall see how this develops, we, must not make pre judgement's
2.) 29 Jan 2026 21:38:03
I recall him being quite good at Monaco around 2022-23. Stood out in a few of the Euro games I saw. Don't know what's gone wrong at Chavski but I hope he can get back to that Monaco form for us

I know this topic has been mentioned before and nothing will change before the end of the season. But looking beyond this season, we have talked about our skipper issue and the general consensus is Bowen is no skipper and of all the names mentioned Souchek seems the most obvious but is not a certainty to start each match. With the last two performances and especially the first halves and the absence of Paqueta I would argue Fernandez has emerged as an excellent choice.
I know he is only young, but feel he has maturity beyond his years and if we miraculously avoid relegation and we stay up I would argue it would be a potential carrot to get him to stay at the club and build the team around him. Because the big clubs will be coming in for him at season's end.
1.) 25 Jan 2026 15:48:41
Tobido
2.) 25 Jan 2026 18:05:08
Mac I thought you didn’t like Todibo
3.) 26 Jan 2026 06:02:44
I don't but he would make a good captain
29 Dec 2025 16:50:07
Just seen on C&H West Ham in talks with Nathan Ake probably better than what we currently have but as usual he is oldish his best days are past him and the wages he would want would be extortionate. I can see another 5 year contract on high wages coming
1.) 29 Dec 2025 20:04:37
I’d take him in a heart beat HD, solid leader and can play CB, LB and Midfield, imo he is exactly the signing we need
2.) 29 Dec 2025 21:15:46
Couldn’t agree more Dabber.
3.) 30 Dec 2025 09:10:54
I’ve also seen Fulham, Palace and Bournemouth are interested, so unless West Ham throw a load of money at him I’m not sure he’ll pick us, hope I’m wrong as him and Cresswell could be just what we need.
4.) 31 Dec 2025 05:45:25
Apparently, Ake has said ‘no’ to us.
23 Sep 2025 17:49:23
I'm reading on some sites that we seem to be approaching managers that are already at other teams, like Parker and Marko Silva. Apparently Kretinski's idea. I find this hard to believe and could be more fake news released to placate the fans but if it is true it would be a step in the right direction.
1.) 23 Sep 2025 19:47:36
Kretinsky is not frightened to pay another club an exit fee for a manager, whilst to Sullivan, paying an exit fee for another manger, is like breaking the holy grail so maybe some persuading has been coming on, we shall see
2.) 23 Sep 2025 20:47:28
Any chance Bellamy?
Definitely a positive option for me.
3.) 24 Sep 2025 07:30:40
If we tie two things together:
1. That David Sullivan really does care about West Ham (supposedly, him and Dave "Longfella" Hunt bonded over a shared love of West Ham, and Ampika has been pretty vociferous in her defence of this via her socials last few days)
2. That Krentinsky is here and influencing the process after two f**k ups by Sullivan in hiring.
Just maybe the 'lady could be for turning'?
4.) 24 Sep 2025 09:36:57
NOT of utmost importance to Kretinsky 1.5% of his total wealth is invested in WH, he has intervened to save his small investment being wiped out, principally by Brady, who’s ideas where influencing Sullivan too much
HE is a million miles more astute than Sullivan, personally I would like to see him take the club over, which he could do easily
IF WH drop clubs value sinks below the radar, presently 8 /5 to be relegated
5.) 24 Sep 2025 12:11:22
Come on lads, we need a CEO and a Director of Football before a permanent appointment of a head coach. Ain’t going to happen though.
6.) 24 Sep 2025 14:42:15
Exactly Tin it ain’t going to happen! So we have to make do with next best and try and get a decent manager which probably ain’t going to happen either!
7.) 24 Sep 2025 18:56:04
We aren't going to get anyone decent let's face it no manager worth his salt will want to work with the squad we have they will just end up leaving with a tarnished reputation, we have missed loads of opportunities to kick on, the board have proven time again how inept they are and they way they treat people is disgusting, welcome to wear ham Mr dyche!
8.) 24 Sep 2025 19:33:10
I can’t disagree with that but much as I would like them to sell up and P.O they are not going to.
I really hope you are not right regarding Dyche. Nuno ain’t a great long term bet but he’s got to be better than that c**t
18 Sep 2025 20:43:41
Just read on claret and Hugh that they had an investor yesterday interested in buying all or most of Gold's shares.
So apparently Karen Brady decides to show him around the Rush Green facilities ???
WTF was she thinking, this will really impress an investor ?
1.) 18 Sep 2025 21:14:40
Because it’s the only thing West Ham own ?
2.) 19 Sep 2025 09:28:36
They are not interested in the. Club they just want to buy the portakabins, there’s a lot of them there, WH happy to sell them, players have been asked to bring their own tents to change in
3.) 19 Sep 2025 10:01:22
Now that made me smile. ?

19 Jan 2026 12:51:16
Hi all, I have been reading on other sites that we seem to have virtually bought a Venezuelan winger and a French keeper! Obviously someone didn't get the memo that we are in dire need of centre backs
1.) 19 Jan 2026 13:44:26
Can’t get the players they prefer is the answer, trying not to make the mistakes of the past ( I’ll believe it when I see it )
They are trying to offload present problems, like
Fulkrug, Rodriguez etc, and not buy in other potential problems for down the road
If we drop, the economic flexibility, which is not exactly vast, then takes a big hit
So trying to stay up, and if not gain the possibility of a core of players, that can get out of the championship
That’s how it’s looking
2.) 19 Jan 2026 16:43:44
Fulkrug’s goal for Milan was just to spite us, methinks.
16 Jan 2026 07:53:31
Just watched a post on Claret and Booze that suggested if we lose to spurs tomorrow the board will sack Nuno and bring in Harry Rednapp until the end of the season on no wages but a bonus if he keeps us up. I don't want to lose to Tottenham but would really like to see this change. I know it could be a waste of time and you should never go back to a previous manager and to one who has been out the game for so long. But I would relish it as he would at least get the players playing with a smile on their face with the emphasis on forward play and keep the ball away from our defence.
And it could just be the inspiration needed. As there are many things to be critical about regarding Nunos tenure but for me his whole demoralising demeanour is the worst. If we are going down let's see some enthusiasm and entertainment on route. I'm probably in a minority here but hey!
1.) 16 Jan 2026 08:31:34
I think what Nick on C&B was saying is that if we lose against Spurs, Sullivan will agree to putting the Redknapp option to the board for consideration. It’s not a done deal. However, if we lose, it may already be too late and Harry may no longer want the job. The bottom line is that Nuno should have been sacked ages ago.
He’s obviously only interested in lining his own and Mendes’ pockets by turning down players who are not Mendes clients and only bringing in those players that are. Everyone’s using the club as a cash register. We are cattle trucked.
2.) 16 Jan 2026 09:12:19
Hammer D love the optimism you have regarding Rednapp. I personally don't see that working out either mainly for the following reasons- (by working out i mean staying up)
Firstly he has been out of the game far too long, football has moved on a lot since then.
Secondly and more important is that he will still have the same group of players. Unfortunately past recruitment has screwed us massively. I was 1 who thought Moyes time was over when he left but look at the players he signed - soucek, coufal, even JWP.
All professionals who work hard. Yes the talent isn't necessarily there but the character of these players is what you need at a club. We have too many players right now with the wrong character, we lack a proper captain, we have an awful board whos sole purpose of moving stadium was to make money. As Tin legs says we are a cash register for them. Until the board go you can bring in any manager you like but we are doomed. Start putting the championship stadiums into your sat navs ladies and gents!
3.) 16 Jan 2026 09:21:20
No that’s true but it should be an immediate decision even by this board standards. It might be a complete and utter disaster and lose every game but the writing is on the wall already may as well go out with a flourish. Most other names banded about haven’t inspired me at all and whilst this is a total Wilde Card and unpopular with many of our fans.
I just want to see if he could have us play in a more cavalier style. As you say either way we are knackered
4.) 16 Jan 2026 10:35:08
I think also its a short sighted option. We need to plan for next year. We need a young, progressive manager brought in who doesn't have staying up expectations placed on him. We are done and down, don't see a way out so let's build for a promotion push now.
5.) 16 Jan 2026 12:42:13
I can’t disagree with any of your points Chris. But it would simply be until the end of season. But One thing the last 4 managers have apart from playing ultra defensive football is there seems no enthusiasm whatsoever and we need to see some, it’s amazing what a bit of that can do. Obviously I want this board gone asap but there is no likelihood of that happening any time soon.
Someone like McKenna would be my long term choice if Ipswich fail to get promotion. I personally think united are making a mistake with Carrick. Okay he will have better players at united as opposed to borro but I don’t see what is going to all of a sudden turn him into a good manager. So I wouldn’t want him either
12 Jan 2026 19:51:10
Burton Albion away in the next round. Always prone to being victims of a giant killing but with our current form if we get turned over I'm not sure it would be a surprise and we definitely ain't giants
1.) 12 Jan 2026 21:46:09
No disrespect to Burton, but i EXPECT us to win that game. It may be the cup which keeps Nuno in his job.

10 Jan 2026 18:50:24
Listening to the boos ringing out on the radio from Tottenhams stadium it's looking a distinct possibility that Thomas Frank may soon be available. Any takers? I'm undecided on him he seems a very pragmatic and level headed guy who may be good at a club like ours.
Although the job he is currently doing hasn't looked good. But surely he has to be better than Nuno?
1.) 11 Jan 2026 01:06:56
If Spurs terminate Frank’s contract, we should grab him with both hands. I had my doubts about his Spurs appointment from the start. Just like Nuno coming here, he’s a round peg in a square hole. Not so Frank and WHU. He is so much more suited to us, but we seem to be stuck with yet another dud.
2.) 11 Jan 2026 07:06:37
I’d have Franks in a heartbeat. He’s only been at Spurs 6 months and they had many changes to make, therefore he’s been given no time. On the opposing side, he did inherit a team which beat Utd in the Europa final, so it could be suggested that Ange didn’t do that bad a job.
The man even said he told the board Europe was his No.1 target… would Ange suit us, or would the board find his honesty too much?
3.) 11 Jan 2026 07:13:08
Tin I like his demeanour and the typical Scandinavian pragmatism. But even though I saw he did do reasonably well at Brentford, I didn’t really pay much attention to the style of football he plays? Would you say it is a progressive style? We have to take into account much of the success at Brentford is due to the way the club as a whole is run. As I’ve said before I don’t think any of us would have heard of Keith Andrews but he is doing well.
Season after season we have heard how they will be relegated as they have just sold their best player. Benrahma, Watkins, Ivan Toney, and Wissa. They have still continued to do well. I would willingly give Frank a chance but more willingly get shot of our board and follow their blueprint.
4.) 11 Jan 2026 09:19:38
@ Brooking, I actually like Ange, it would at least be nice to see some entertainment for a change. But at the moment I could see it being as big a disaster as it was for him at Forest as I don’t believe we have the players to adapt so quickly to that attacking style.
And I feel that could be an issue with anyone taking over and playing more on the front foot. But we must be able to transition somewhat to a more attacking set up than we have at the moment even with our current crop of players.
5.) 11 Jan 2026 09:59:42
I think if we went for frank supports would have to understand he is a manager that would oversee a long term project like he did at Brentford, i still think relegation is inevitable as so much damage has already been done, i'd still wait.
Until summer and let a new man come in and lift the spirits, if a new manager comes in now his reputation will be tarnished with a relegation that isn't his fault and supporters will moan about them now
6.) 11 Jan 2026 10:23:33
Frank has a solid background in youth football and is brilliant at player development. He favours 4-3-3, but also has played 3-4-3, hence he is more attack minded. His first months as manager of Brentford were not great, I think winning only one game out of the first ten or so matches, but the west London club stuck by him. Our squad of players looks to me to be an attacking team, but each of our last three managers have favoured a defensive setup.
If they were let off their leash (as in the Newcastle game) I think we’d see a stark improvement in results. Frank is just the man to do that. So is Marco Silva and possibly Michael Carrick. But our useless board have not got the sense, or the financial will, to do that. Hence, we end up with dross for our club. Sad really.
7.) 11 Jan 2026 10:37:47
Hammer-D, I think you are wrong about our players. Even Harry Redknapp said recently that looking at our first team squad they are obviously an attacking squad set up to play defensively — big mistake.
He thought, given the chance, he could turn things around in a matter of weeks. It’s the bloody coaches, not the players, that are defence minded. Let them off their leashes. Paqueta is a prime example.
8.) 11 Jan 2026 13:27:39
FairPlay I suppose Paqueta and Fernandez could be used in a far more attacking option whereas at the moment we seem to have 4 defensive midfielders
9.) 11 Jan 2026 14:09:53
The thing about Thomas Frank at Brentford was he had a good board and a good coaching team around him. Brentford have pushed on this season
10.) 11 Jan 2026 14:24:55
TL, I agree I think we have the players to play attacking football. I don’t however think they’re blameless for our current predicament. Bowen is a poor captain demonstrated as you rightly pointed out by his lack of handling of Paqueta against Liverpool. Too many of them are lacking confidence, making mistakes and unforgivably not trying hard enough as demonstrated against Wolves. The manager is in my opinion totally wrong for us and is far too risk averse. Expecting players with fragile confidence to protect 1 goal leads for 20 minutes plus is just madness. As the board we all know the biggest preportion of blame has to go them for thinking they know best all the time, lying and penny pinching.
Where I can’t agree with you is on Paqueta. We have a player there that has the quality to make the difference but let's his team mates and supporters down on so many occasions and wastes his undoubted talent. He can’t blame the defensive system for his poor shows as Kudus played under the same coaches (bar Nuno) and still managed to light up the stadium with his personal attacking qualities and make a difference. Sadly for Paqueta poor form and attitude is more stark when you have a gift
11.) 11 Jan 2026 15:09:41
But Dabber, surely a talented player will thrive in a team which exhibits a positive mentality, wouldn’t you agree? We’ve seen glimpses of what he is capable. Put yourself in his boots. The successive coaches under whom he has played at WHU must all have been telling him to play in a way which restricts his natural abilities.
After a while, wouldn’t that have a an effect on your game? The times he’s played well are the occasions he’s been free to express himself. He’s an attacking player, but our successive coaches have obviously been reining him in. Sacrilege.
12.) 11 Jan 2026 16:36:33
I certainly think you’re right in that Nuno and Potter have both suppressed and wasted his talent but Loopy wasn’t a negative defensive manager and he played well under Moyes so I guess I’m sort of agreeing with you ?
I just think he hasn’t got the heart for the fight needed, is disruptive with his petulance and blows hot and cold with his effort. Imo he isn’t the sort of player we need to stay up. Good debate though
13.) 11 Jan 2026 16:48:26
I tend to agree with merceri. All these smaller clubs with this professional system in place have all moved on from managers that everyone lorded and surpassed what their predecessor did. I would obviously like to give Frank a chance if it materialises but am worried that he is not as good as many think.
The Wolves performance was a disgrace and there were players there notably Potts and Magassa who I have praised very often obviously were not trying at all and couldn’t care less. If they have a problem with the managers tactics I would rather they had the backbone to publicly question the tactics because us fans are.
14.) 12 Jan 2026 02:22:31
Come on Hammer-D, players can’t speak out. They’d be ostracised.
29 Jan 2026 15:21:42
I seriously don’t believe they have any interest in signing someone with the Paqueta money not even a CB which we all know we need. I think they are going for targets that are unattainable or in the case of players that they may possibly stand a chance with, they do the usual low-ball offers.
This season has been a rollercoaster with far more downs than ups and the minute things seem to on an up Sulivan and Brady come along to scupper any hope.
29 Jan 2026 15:16:38
Spot on Joyful. He is now pretty useless and costly at that.
28 Jan 2026 19:57:37
I don’t think it matters weather we feel we need the players, which we do. It’s all lies and sleight of hand of Sullivan . We should know by now every window is the same. They put out propaganda to say they are trying to buy players but really have no intention at all.
Every manager has had to suffer the same antics. He is hoping we can just about stay up but won’t do anything to help that.
28 Jan 2026 08:29:00
I don’t rate him his end product is really poor but in the big scheme of things in our current predicament it isn’t a bad purchase at that price. As said he has speed and strength and that is something defenders hate
27 Jan 2026 19:42:12
That’s great thanks for clarifying ?
29 Jan 2026 20:50:26
Totally on board with what you are saying but am hearing from other places that Sullivan is putting out there that any player recruitment is totally at the behest of the manager. Which most of us know is complete bolo@@@ yet I suppose it’s his way to throw someone under the bus.
28 Jan 2026 08:30:27
He didn’t score one free kick in all his time with us and had plenty of opportunities
27 Jan 2026 16:37:52
But he is already at a side where he would be first name on the team sheet. I thought he wanted to leave at seasons end but Forest are just chancing their arm.
27 Jan 2026 07:39:28
We may get a free hit this weekend. Will be difficult to get a win at Chelsea but let hope, a draw would be a decent result but even if they lose it might not be too bad because Palace play Forest so any result could end up being beneficial.
26 Jan 2026 19:25:16
We also have a few 6 pointers left to play. Burnley, Palace and Leeds last game of the season
