What I don't understand with our board is they never appoint a tactically aware manager? Our managers always follow a defensive avenue: Moyes, Loppy, Potter, Nuno. Pellegrini is considered a solid manager but he lost the plot with his buys when our managers. Many fans wanted Moyes gone, but there were problems between Moyes/Steidten. The football was not great, but with Moyes we would not be in this position.
We are going down this season, and only Wolves are worse than us in footballing styles!

OK roll the dice, who would YOU appoint right now, if Nuno is sacked?

You’re right — with Moyes we’d already be a Championship side. I can’t believe some people are still banging that drum. Who do you think left us with the oldest, depleted, and slowest first team squad? Get real.

I think this is a reflection on the boards ambition, just happy for us to stay up no interest in progress at all

You find it hard to admit you are wrong Tin? ?
West Ham were in Europe 3 years running and won a trophy. They have been slowly getting a lot worse since Moyes left, that is a fact.
You saying they’d already be relegated is an opinion, and a pretty hyperbolic one at that.
It’s fine that you didn’t like his style of football or approve of everything he did, but he’s still been WHU’s most successful manager by a country mile for quite some time

We started getting worse under moyes that is a fact, he did a decent enough job but it was time for him to go, the appointments that followed have left supporters looking at moyes through rose tinted glasses. The last season under Moyes was dire, he left us with a small ageing squad which is a big part of the mess we are in now .

Irons87,
I’ve always said that Moyes should have gone in Nov 2022 during the world cup. Robbo has echoed everything else I said
Exactly where, in your opinion, have Robbo and I got it wrong? And if my memory serves me well, weren’t you one of Potter’s strongest supporters also?
Regards,
Tin.

I’d like to see Marco Silva.
I thought Potter would do well. His buys Fernandes, Diouf and Magasssa - have all turned out to be good buys. The GK has turned to be a poor acquisition.

By all accounts, a deal had been struck with Marco Silva after we won the Europa Conference League trophy in 2023, but Sullivan bottled it and kept Moyes. Had Silva come here in 2023 I doubt very much we’d be up to our necks in crap today.

I wish Moyes had walked away after we won the conference cup. He would have had immense respect from most fans and we could have moved on post Moyes and rice. But even the season we won in Europe we we crap and going down hill fast. His last season was where this current downward spiral began, we sell rice and to replace him we buy JWP. Don’t get me started about potter, ok 2 of the 3 purchases you mention brooking are good but Diouf the jury is out. He also bought hermadsen who was a disaster and allowed Forrest to end the JWP loan deal and brought him back to West Ham. He also sanctioned the buying of zero strikers. Played Potts preseason and bought Magassa only to play Souchek and JWP in midfield, instead of them. The list goes on……….
