Reports are that WH get an extra £1m each year for the next five years if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League as part of the Rice deal.

Whilst that’s already happened this year (so that’s another £1m in the bank), what about a scenario where Arsenal needed us to lose on the last day to ensure that they qualified for the CL?

The PL, or FA, or whoever has the clout, should stop these sort of contract clauses, which have the potential to encourage match fixing.

1.) 16 May 2024 21:28:46
Yeah, but put it this way, that £1m pays Danny Ings wages for 8 weeks.

#worthit lol.

Eds, is it likely to be true that any new contract offered to Moyse will remove his veto from buying players? If so, I can’t imagine him signing it. He couldn’t cope without the power and would hate that Steidten has more influence.

Mmpr

{Ed002's Note - For me, it is understood that his struggles with David Moyes are very much based on how Moyes utilises the players he has rather than over specific transfers. I would expect West Ham to move Moyes on before letting Steidten depart.}

Thx for your reply. I bloody well hope that your view proves to be true.

Gimenez rumours surfacing.

Great finisher, good pace and physical presence, threat in the air and, most importantly is in the right place at the right time.

Yes, please.

Mmpr

{Ed002's Note - Santiago Gimenez (S) Having another good season at Feyenoord and attracting interest of Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Real Madrid, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has become the first choice Harry Kane replacement for Spurs after they lost out on their preferred option in the summer but not first choice for Chelsea or Real Madrid - although don't discount either. Spurs have an advantage that Feyenoord are interested in a Spurs player, Barcelona may offer a wildcard option following a discussion between Deco and someone they are trying to recruit. Others, such as Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham can be discounted. Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt would only be viable if they make significant sales and others drop out. Cost could be pretty high - they will look for perhaps €55M - ending interest of most of these clubs. Don't totally discount Napoli.}

1.) 12 Jan 2024 11:36:30
Thx for the update. Ah, well.

{Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely I am afraid.

A few potential options to consider:
Armando Broja (S) Torino, Besiktas, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Milan, West Ham and Napoli remain keen. Brighton may offer another option to keep him in the Premier League. Cheslea do not wish to loan the player and will look to discussions before the summer but have discussed a part exchange with Benfica. A January move is unlikely.
Vangelis Pavlidis (S) AZ will not want to sell but are aware Fulham and Eintracht Frankfurt have been scouting the player regularly. West Ham and Marseille looked at the player before Christmas but have taken it no further.
Akor Adams (S) Only moved from Norway to Montpelier this summer but already of interest to Napoli - probably as cover. Fulham see him as an option to Timo Werner and West Ham may offer a wildcard solution. Not one for a January move.
Hugo Ekitike (F) Versatile forward that Eintracht Frankfurt have identified as a potential replacement for summer departure Randal Kolo Muani after failing with Ngankam, but they may look first to Rafiu Durosinmi. This season has been dire and he is nowhere close to the first team, and quite rightly. Atalanta, Lens and Everton interest has likely gone. West Ham in looking for a Scamacca replacement had made an offer in the summer and I expect West Ham to sound out his "representative", and I use the word in the loosest of meanings, and depending what they are told, perhaps approach PSG in January. Wolves have asked his representative if he would be open to a move but have yet, as I understand, taken the opportunity to approach PSG. Wolfsburg have spoken directly with PSG about the player. Wildcard could be Crystal Palace but they likely have preferred options and he is asking for significant wages - so a loan to buy will likely be discussed. Could be a huge mistake by any club looking to him with form gone completely.
Borja Mayoral (S) Attracting attention from London with Fulham, Arsenal and West Ham declaring an interest.Giovanni Simeone (F) Napoli will listen to offers for a fringe player whose goals have dried up. West Ham have a long-term interest but he would have to be matched with a Centre Forward due to his size.}

Kehrer deal done with Monaco. Loan with obligation to buy.

Mmpr

1.) 04 Jan 2024 19:12:30
Ings + cash for Kilman would be a reasonable deal to for Ogbonna cover

2.) 05 Jan 2024 08:11:45
Not posted for a while, but thought I'd throw something out there.

Wolves were close to signing Cresswell in the Summer, only for it to fail as we didn't have sufficient cover at left back.

I'd be tempted to offer Cresswell AND Ings for Kilman.

Kilman is a left sided central defender and has played left back in his career. Given that Emerson is CLEARLY our number one left back at the moment, we only need left back cover.

So to let Cresswell and Ings go in exchange, would get two higher earners off the books, two older players off the books, and would give us a 26 year old centre back that can also play left back.

You could argue that he isn't naturally good enough at left back, but you'd of said the same about Dan Burn before he was shifted out their to cover as well.

3.) 05 Jan 2024 10:00:51
And let’s not forget Benrahma who is high on O’Neil’s high regard list. The Wolves manager had admitted FFP rules dictate they must sell before buying. Ings, Cresswell, and even Benrahma could be offered in exchange to tempt Wolves.

4.) 05 Jan 2024 16:03:09
We won't get KILMAN for INGS+CRESSWELL as we would have to pay about £10-15 mill on top of those 2 for KILMAN who I rate highly but I think TAH could be WHUFC bound due to STEIDTEN and apparently DD is a fan.⚒⚒⚒

5.) 17 Jan 2024 18:38:08
i would let Ings go for free just get him off the books. Moyes i read likes INGS but he is too slow for the premiership and I've never seen hin have a decent game for WH
Cresswell has been good for WH but needs to find another club and i wish him weLL

6.) 23 Jan 2024 18:43:50
I thought INGS in the no10 role suited he's been crying out to either play with help up top or just behind the front man DEVON JOHN and I think he was our most influential offensive player against SHEFFIELD UTD by a mile I've been INGS biggest critic but you don't turn into a bad player at his age the pace normally starts to decrease as you get older, but he's never really had blistering pace but an eye for a goal he's always had, if he got his goal and a run in the team not up top on his own then you would see the real INGS, just the difference is his hair suddenly growing? no all jokes aside he desperately needs a goal.⚒⚒⚒

We’ve triggered our one year option for Fornals.

Mmpr

1.) 06 Dec 2023 06:57:15
It’s only in order to gain as much as possible in his sale. Rumour has it this move has placed a valuation of between £8 million to £12 million.

So good to see the youngster get the 3rd today. His general play was encouraging too: finding space between the lines and playing on the front foot. That will have impressed the new manager.

Mmpr

1.) 12 May 2024 15:56:24
On the back of that I reckon this summer we need to sign the following: LB RB CB CB CM AM LW and at least 2 CF's if Ings and Antonio leave. With Downes and Earthy and some youth we should be ok to start with

2.) 12 May 2024 17:25:08
Loads of money - Wonga

3.) 12 May 2024 18:46:00
Yup Ham-Eggs-Chips but if they want lopetegui to succeed they got to back him. Give him whatever money we get from sales and let TS work his magic cause some gems out there waiting to be uncovered

4.) 13 May 2024 11:14:36
We'll get approximately £25m for the sales of Kehler and Benny. Probably £60-80m from the board, plus other sales.
We need to find clubs who will take Cresswell, Zouma, Oggy, Aguerd, Ings. This alone would release about £400k from the wage bill each week. This would also give us approximately £30-40m.
So, I reckon we'll have around £140m-150m to spend.

We need to keep: Ariola, Fabs, Coufal, Emerson, Mavro, Soucek, JWP, Pacqueta, Bowen, Alvarex and Antonio. We can't replace them all. Typically we could do with 3 or 4 good players coming in.

5.) 13 May 2024 17:36:55
You left out Kudus

6.) 13 May 2024 21:51:42
Brooking the players you mentioned that we have to look to move on, they will still be at the club come September IMO. With luck newly promoted clubs might take a gamble

11 May 2024 23:30:43
Loppy wants En-Nesyri, which sounds like a serious move in the right direction to me. He’s a class above Nketiah and most of the others being bandied about.
In the media.

If Loppy can get the best out of Paqueta, I’d be keen to keep him, but he may well be destined for European football elsewhere. I’ve read that the gambling investigation will be resolved next week, so we’ll just have to see how it goes.

Mmpr

1.) 12 May 2024 15:42:15
It was Loppy who bought En-Nesyri to Sevilla in the first place for €20m Euros. Transfermarkt has him valued at €18M and if we can get him for anything near that it's surely a total no brainer.

06 May 2024 18:00:10
Just read that Lopetegui’s role will be “Head Coach” not Manager. If that’s true, it means that Steidten will take full responsibility for recruitment. Hopefully a relationship will develop where Lop suggests players and Steidten Considers them, but as long as funds are available from the imminent clearout, it might be exciting times ahead.

Bowen was excellent and did his chances of being in the Euros squad the world of good.

Mmpr

1.) 27 Mar 2024 19:23:22
Did anyone else get a season ticket invite today? Thinking about it, there is actually a lot to consider so its not that straightforward. Setting aside potential price increases, it’s the date that has me more than a little concerned. Because on June 3rd, we’re unlikely to know whether David Moyes will be the manager next season, and that’s a significant factor in the decision-making process! Then of course, will we be in Europe next year, if not surely that will affect the price? All in all, a lot needs to be resolved before I make any rash decisions over a season ticket @!

2.) 28 Mar 2024 08:13:41
Mmpr, yes unfortunately, great for him and he deserves it but I am no fan of any of our squad being called up for International duties, PL, Euro games, Internationals, to many injury chances, that’s looking on the selfish side for our club, we need them more! ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

11 Feb 2024 15:48:08
I have been following West Ham for a very long time and have seen some very poor performances at times over the years.

I have never seen a West Ham side so disinterested.

We all know where the responsibility lies.

Get rid of Moyse now and ask Nolan to front the rest of the season whilst Steidten sorts out our next manager.

Mmpr

1.) 11 Feb 2024 15:53:30
Sullivan will, as always give him two more games and so it goes on and on!

2.) 11 Feb 2024 16:12:09
Get noble in for now . See how he does and then I'd approach Thomas Frank personally

3.) 11 Feb 2024 16:54:46
I don’t think Sully will move to sack Moyes this season.
The heat will get to much for Moyes to take another contract if presented to him. I know there any man who will disagree with that, but I believe he will call time.
A lot of the way WH conduct business is down to Sully. And this will not change regardless of the manager. Sully keeping dead wood on the payroll hoping they will come good to sell on for a better return. Not actioning deals early in the window.
The list goes on, DOF will have his work cut out trying to improve the way WH move forward.

4.) 11 Feb 2024 17:03:15
Agreed its all sullivan and all he cares about is the money not the club or the fans

5.) 11 Feb 2024 22:27:29
Spot on oshee it is all about money SULLY has no interest in west ham just money⚒⚒⚒

6.) 11 Feb 2024 22:31:09
I said we will drop off a cliff in the league now and it's happening.⚒⚒⚒

I’ve called him McThuginay for years. Basically Fellaini 2.0

…which makes him right up Moyse’s street.

But if we were never going to bring anybody in (and therefore not release any of our squad), why go through all the rigmarole of protracted negotiations?

We are not (yet? ) top six contenders. The squad is both small and ageing and Lopetegui has a lot of work to do with Steidten to revamp it.

Top half of the table isn’t bad in spite of our hopes at the beginning of the season.

And, of course, fate would have it that we’re kingmakers this weekend.

The summer window ahead of next season is a real fresh start and I, for one, am quite excited about it.

Amazing how Championship players (two games a week) never complain about being tired. It must be lugging around all their inflated wages that makes PL players so exhausted.
