Whilst the offer of Van Persie may seem to be a no go cause of his age and his desire, he has the winning mentality and the experience that he could rub off on the rest of our squad which is absolutely vital in the premier league. Lest face it, he was never one for having great pace, but he was clever at finding space enough to score goals and he scored them on a regular basis and I reckon a Manager like SB could make him a bargain at £4m.

I do not understand why the Dave' would turn this down out of hand! He would thrive in our line up imho.

Of course the question has to be, having already won everything in the premier league how would he react if things are not going well or if he has to play second fiddle to AC.

He's still on £200k a week upwards. Eats up most of our wage budget on someone who's career is fading out. We've hopefully moved on from those sort of deals.
